Women Breathing Freedom Time
Women are caregivers (we know men are too) in the world and we sometimes overlook taking care of ourselves! But we need to remember if we get dogged tired who will take care of our family.
Rest some and get some fresh air and relax!
Do this for yourself at least 10 minutes a day. Every day the same time each day. Get in the habit and you will gain strength. Remember don’t forget to add the fresh air.
Now tomorrow you start your ten-minute a day 'Women Breathing Freedom' time for you and you only. If someone asks what you are doing. This is what you tell them on your ten minute break: It's Women Breathing Freedom Time - Do any of you have more suggestions to improve women's life health habits? How do you relax from stress? Some of our member are care givers for our parents and some of us are nearing the age of becoming care givers for our elder parents.
What advise is needed here.
What if you can't afford certain items to help your family such as food or medication.
What if our children have special needs?
What if your car breaks down and you can't afford the payments to fix it?
Ask the local vocational training school or county program if they can use another car to work on and what she thinks is needed. They may do part or all of the repairs for little or no money, sometimes just for the experience of their students being able to work on different kinds of cars.
Check the community hotline, United Way, church programs, and community agencies/programs to see if she can get someone to come out part-time to help with elder parents respite (free time for oneself), senior companions, meals on wheels, and more so they won't be overwhelmed, stressed and get compassion fatigue or caregiver stress.
People need to learn how to advocate for themselves. Contact the local chapter of the National Association of Social Workers for someone who is good with community resources who might be able to cut through some of the red tape and get services of family needs.
